BAHREIN

The Kingdom of Bahrain is an archipelago (a group of islands) in the Persian gulf to the east of Saudi Arabia. It is the smallest nation of the Middle East with the fastest growing economy. Diving for pearls was the most important economic activity until oil was discovered in 1930.

The pearl of the Persian gulf
The Bahraini landscape is 92 percent desert. The Bahraini people are plagued by regular droughts and sand storms. Despite these hardships, they are proud of their special culture, religion and history. Their history stretches so far back that Bahrain claims it goes back to the garden of Adam and Eve. Put on a protective scarf around your head and discover Bahrain: the pearl of the Persian gulf

Climate/working climate
Bahrain has a hot and humid climate; the average temperature in the summer, from May to September, is approximately 29° C and in the winter approximately 21° C. Average day temperatures are around 36° C. Sand storms and hot summer winds (qaws) make the climate very unpleasant.

Working culture; see the descriptions for Dubai and Qatar.
